Coiled rug, table runners, basket, coasters and drink holders. Made from reused fabric from old clothes in an attempt to reduce waste. c2016

I attempted to sell these through Reverse Garbage. I did sell a few. I sold a few to friends and gave some away. I have some in a drawer taking up space.

I was originally trying to work out ways to make useful things with my coiling... This is however, more practical as decoration since I don't know how well it would wash. Certainly it wouldn't be something to toss in a machine, so it's not the most practical for table use.

I think this would look good expanded to do a large wall hanging.

Small rug - Made from reused fabric from old clothes.

I liked this rug, but it's not overly practical. I don't know how well or easily it would wash. It was faster to make than a plaited rug, so useful if you need a rug quickly and have a lot of old fabric to use up.

I made a few of these at the time, but they were never that appealing. I was thinking of them as Easter baskets. Aprox 25cm across.

Out of all of these things, I think the drink holders worked best. They are probably sturdy enough to be washed as well. If not, they at least last as long as neoprene holders, and being reused fabric (mostly cottons) they are much more environmentally friendly, even if this is the end of use.

Downside is that they get damp, so you need to dry them out after use. They also don't insulate as well as neoprene, but well enough.
